Townhouse Renovation

This was a gut renovation of a townhouse on which I worked with the architecture firm Ike Kligerman Barkley.

They created this incredible interior staircase that acted like a piece of sculpture through the core of all three floors. The shade in the dining area was selected to evoke the staircase.

The bathroom details are multi-layered: I had the floor tiles custom manufactured in black and white and then covered the walls and ceiling in etched mirrors of the same pattern.

The look of the spiral staircase is reflected throughout the home: the living room carpet has a lovely oval, almost spiral, pattern.

The palette for the whole house is very neutral, tone-on-tone, but I wanted to make a dramatic statement, so we added a splash of earthly brick red in the dining room to delineate the space.
